Glenn Squires, CEO, PACRIM Received Anniversary Award From Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU), Halifax, NS

Bedford, Nova Scotia – May 30, 2014 – On May 15, 2014 Glenn Squires received the MSVU Anniversary Award for his contribution to the university’s Hospitality Management Program. Inaugurated in 1998-99 during Mount Saint Vincent’s 125th Anniversary Year, this award recognizes exceptional volunteer contributions to the University over many years.

“Glenn Squires has been a steadfast champion of the Mount, and his continued leadership exemplifies the power of ‘community’ in the Mount’s unique education. Glenn’s dedication to the Tourism and Hospitality Management Program has been formidable. For over a decade the proceeds from Glenn’s Pacrim Invitational Golf Tournament supported the establishment of a number of scholarships and awards, with contributions of close to half a million dollars. These awards, which enhance scholarly activities and provide funding for program needs, enhance the educational experience of students in that program”, said Ramona Lumpkin, MSVU President & Vice-chancellor.

“Glenn also served on the Project TWENTY12 Business and Tourism committee and has personally sponsored a reception area, in honour of his wife Penny Squires, for the Business Administration and Tourism and Hospitality Management Department. Project TWENTY12 surpassed its goal of $12M and Glenn’s contribution was integral to that success”, Ramona Lumpkin.

“In 2002 Pacrim founded the Pacrim Invitational Golf Tournament. As part of this tournament, Pacrim wanted to give something back to our community. From 2002-2012, our organization choose the Hospitality Management Program at MSVU as the contributor of monies received through its live and silent auctions from the tournament. Pacrim appreciates and recognizes the importance of superior employee training and development in hospitality. This Award I accept on behalf of the many Pacrim employees who organize this tournament, a tournament which has been named “the best golf tournament in Atlantic Canada” and our sponsors and suppliers who have contributed auction items for this very worthy cause”, said Squires.

“We encourage each and every one of our employees across the country to “give back” to their communities. With our Head Office in Bedford, Nova Scotia, it has been our pleasure to have contributed and to continue to contribute to our MSVU Hospitality Management Program community”, stated Squires.
